Replanting Butterfly Gardens


Plants donated by IMS Landscaping were planted in both butterfly gardens.

April General Meeting

 The April meeting was by Zoom.

 Attendees: Bonnie Buhl, Norma Chiaramonte, Debbie Haluch, Bea Huriega, Ellen and Mark Jones, Jeff and Gwen Klorer, Alma Rielly, Ann Sansbury, Dale Smothers, Michelle Sobczak (visitor), Tracy Walker and Ruth Westra.

 Speaker: Marty and Greg Graves with the Lone Star Hibiscus Club spoke on everything hibiscus including many varieties, propagation and growing beautiful hibiscus.

 Minutes –  March 8th Meeting Minutes –we dispensed with reading of the minutes.

Treasurer’s Report - Treasurer Report was given by Secretary/Treasurer, Ann Sansbury and approved by all.

 Birthdays – Dave Mausolf, Bea Huriega, Alma Rielly and Ian McWilliam

 Old Business:

·       Bonnie spoke on the naming of the butterfly gardens and went over the rules. The winner will be announced May 1 at 11:00 at the Plant Giveaway and Sale.

·       The Plant Giveaway and Sale will be on May 1 from 10:00 until noon.

 New Business:

·       Debbie announced that we need someone to step up and take the Presidents and Secretary/Treasurer offices for the next two years. She will plan the programs.

·       Planting of the gardens will be April 24th at 9:00. Kyle will deliver the plants to the clubhouse the day before.

·       We would like to have a Yard of the Season winner for Spring before the next meeting.

·       Debbie shared pictures of members’ plants that survived the freeze.

·       The May 10 meeting will be in person at the Community Center.

 Tips:

  • ·       Books and newspaper are great for combating weeds.
  • ·       Now is a great time to plant vegetables.
